Passage: John 17:20-26 We have come to the last portion of the High Priestly Prayer, the portion where Christ’s prays for us, for future believers.

Passage: John 17:6-19 As we come to the second portion of the High Priestly Prayer, we will see our Lord praying in a very different manner than some of His children. We will find our Lord praying for the eleven, but as He does we will see no elements of selfishness in His prayers.

Passage: John 17:1-5 In this lesson we will begin the first part of the High Priestly Prayer. As we look at Christ’s praying for Himself we see the posture of His prayer; the Petition of His Prayer; and the Purpose of His coming.

Passage: John 16:16-24 Sorrow is an emotion given by God. In fact, Jesus Himself told the 11 in the garden of Gethsemane that His soul was exceedingly sorrowful even unto death. In this lesson, Jesus tells the 11 that they too will be sorrowful, but they will not remain in that sad state.

Passage: John 16:12-15 In this lesson, Jesus shifts from speaking about what the Holy Spirit’s ministry to the world will be, to what His ministry to the 11 will be. Even though many churches have abused the work of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit does have a vital role in our lives.

Passage: John 16:5-11 The conviction of the Holy Spirit is a wonderful thing to the unbeliever. This is the topic that Christ brings to the attention of His disciples in this passage. He wants them to know that convicting an unbeliever of their sin is not their ministry, it is the Spirit’s.

Passage: John 16:1-4 We will consider the Lord’s mercy by warning of persecution; the world’s method of persecution, and the world’s motive behind the persecution.

Passage: John 15:22-27 As we end chapter 15, Jesus gives the disciples encouragement by first reminding them of His own example of being a witness, and then that the Spirit will be a witness; and they also will be witnesses. This lesson will motivate each of God’s children to be His witness!

Passage: John 15:17-21 Christ did not leave the disciples in the dark regarding the fact that there would be a cost of becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ, specifically that of being hated as well as persecuted by the world. In this passage we will see five reasons why the world hates us.
